MBA OFFICE UPDATES
With two Assistant Directors leaving the MBA Career & Professional Development (CPD) team in the last quarter of 2017, we are pleased to announce the appointment of two replacements, Mr. Christopher Yip (Chris) and Ms. Quinny Chan, who assumed their duties in February.
Having been promoted from Manager in the CPD team, Chris is no stranger to many full-time MBA students and graduates. As a reputable colleague among MBA students, Chris successfully built relationships with executives and talent acquisition managers across many industries to facilitate recruitment plans. Leveraging his five years of experience in corporate relationship building, coaching, and workshop delivery to over 100 MBA students annually, Chris will continue to focus on developing new corporate connections in Hong Kong, China, and Singapore for the MBA programs. He will also continue to be the focal point of our full-time MBA students and lead various signature events including the Career Fair and the Corporate Reception.
Prior to joining HKUST, Quinny gained over 10 years of experience in professional talent acquisition, business development, and key account management in renowned international companies such as Michael Page, INFINITI and TNS. She has worked closely with senior executives and HR directors on talent recruitment, and has extensive experience in candidate sourcing, interviewing, and career advice. Quinny will be the focal point for the MBA for Professionals program and will work closely with Chris Yip to support full-time MBA students. Quinny will also develop corporate relationships, especially in non-financial sectors. Riding on her experience advising talents, she will also provide support to students in personal goals identification, career planning, discovering new opportunities, and enhancing job interview skills.
The MBA Office is also hiring two new Managers for the CPD team to further enhance our career support. With an extended workforce and existing support from another Assistant Director, Raymond Xiao, on the CPD team, we are confident that our MBA students and recent graduates will receive more well-rounded support with maximized career opportunities in the future.
