CAREER DEVELOPMENT
Virtual Career Initiatives Amid COVID-19 Outbreak
Now more than ever, companies are seeking business leaders capable of managing unanticipated circumstances and possessing a strong acumen in technology and virtual business. Reacting swiftly to the paradigm shift in business, our Career and Professional Development (CPD) team has launched a new array of online career workshops and events so that our MBA students will not only stay competitive in the face of current challenges but also catch the next wave of opportunities when the new normal arrives.
Online Workshops Tailored to Current Challenges
Natalie Evie, former Executive Director of Goldman Sachs, shared how to stay at the top of your game in dire times.
Now that face-to-face interaction is no longer an option, being able to work and present effectively on virtual platforms has become an essential skill for business executives. We have introduced a brand-new series of Mastering the Virtual Workplace workshops, featuring highly relevant topics such as Pitching Ideas in an Online Meeting and Acing Virtual Interviews. These workshops showed students the best practices in presentation structuring, questioning techniques and technical setup to make a lasting impression and keep their audience engaged in virtual meetings.
Having the right mentality is just as important to stay ahead of the game amid uncertainties. In the EQ Wellness in Times of Crisis workshop, students learnt useful tips and tricks in managing stress and maintaining a winning attitude and calmness when facing strong headwinds in the corporate environment.
Staying Proactive in Job Market
Euromonitor’s Sabrina Sakhrani (General Manager) and Arjun Sachdeva (Consulting Lead) introduced the career opportunities at their company.
Steve Lee (General Manager) introduced MioTech's core technology and job opportunities with our MBA students.
Since February 2020, many regular on-campus recruitment activities have been disrupted because of the COVID-19 outbreak. We have been working closely with employers to explore more flexible online options to match students with the right job and internship opportunities.
Thanks to the staunch support from employers across different industries, such as Euromonitor, Miotech and Sia Partners, a series of informative and interactive virtual recruitment webinars were successfully organized in March and April.
Both employers and students welcomed the flexibilities of online events, which eliminated the need to commute. Meanwhile, we are also partnering with an overseas Virtual Career Fair organizer to grant MBA students additional access to job opportunities across the APAC and EMEA markets.
We are dedicated as ever to helping our MBA students transform, soar and thrive in this challenging time. For corporates or alumni who are interested in engaging our talent pool for internship/job opportunities or consultancy projects, please contact our CPD team at
