HKUST MBA

MBA Sundial Summer 2018
MESSAGE FROM THE MBA PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Professor Tai-Yuan Chen

Dear all,

Welcome to the second issue of the MBA Sundial.

In a rapidly changing world, technology is dramatically changing daily life and work and the way that business operates. How can we better adapt to such change? As a university with science and technology in our name, we are in a unique position to integrate business and technology and embed it into our education. In the coming academic year, we are pleased to introduce technology-based courses such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain and Cryptocurrency, Programming Using Python, and Big Data Analytics into our curriculum. Notably, these courses reflect strong collaboration across the business, science, and engineering schools within HKUST. We are confident that these courses will enable our students to analyze and tackle modern business issues using the most current technological solutions.

To gain more insight into how technology changes business models, we invited alumnus Ben Wong (Chief Marketing Officer of Google Greater China) to share his views on how technology is revamping marketing.

One highlight of HKUST MBA programs is that learning does not stop at graduation. We continue to offer courses for alumni audit, including the newly introduced technology subjects. Moreover, a Wealth Management course exclusively for alumni will be launched in the coming year, and we will announce details in due course. Finally, on September 16, 2018, we will host the inaugural MBA Homecoming on our Clearwater Bay campus. We look forward to seeing you and your family on this special day.

Enjoy your reading! We look forward to connecting with you, hearing your updates, and receiving your feedback.
