MBA Sundial Summer 2018
COURSE SPONSORSHIP BY GOLDMAN SACHS
Managing Diversity In Business Organizations

We would like to thank Goldman Sachs for sponsoring one of our elective courses, “MGMT6520C – Managing Diversity in Business Organizations,” this summer term. The course was held every Monday from July 9 to August 6 2018 and was taught by Professor Julian Groves from the Division of Social Science. The course covers topics such as understanding and managing diversity in terms of gender, age, and race and the implementation of diversity and inclusive policies and practices in organizations. After the course, students are able to evaluate the costs and benefits of diversity and to design an optimal diverse environment.

This collaboration was facilitated by alumnus Mr. Paul Choi, Executive Director of the Human Capital Management (HCM) division of Goldman Sachs in Asia and the Head of Goldman Sachs University (GSU) and Talent Branding for Asia Pacific. In addition to his leadership role in HCM, Paul chairs the LGBT Network Council for the firm in Asia Pacific. As Paul seeks to promote corporate diversity in education institutions, he helped establish the collaboration between UST and Goldman Sachs.

The sponsorship supports the course’s development and students’ experiential learning activities. The course also brought in guest speakers from Goldman Sachs to share real-life cases and their experience in managing diversity in a highly esteemed company. The course was well received by the students, and we appreciate the support of Goldman Sachs.
