HKUST MBA SUNDIAL

Issue #11 (Feb 2021)
ONLINE ALUMNI SHARING SERIES
Bringing our Global MBA Community Together

HKUST MBA has originated an inspiring interactive initiative for community members, delivering insights on topical issues from MBA alumni executives in a series of webinars grouped under a fresh theme every quarter.

Each episode features alumni experts from different areas, who share their knowledge and views on subjects focused around the season’s main theme. The first fall season, launched in September 2020, explored industry trends and insights while our current winter season is centered on the international job market.

The webinar series is open to all current students and alumni of the MBA Program, with the number of participants growing from episode to episode. Overseas alumni joining these events to date have included MBA community members from Australia, India, Israel, Korea, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, among other locations.

Meanwhile, for those unable to tune in for the live events, we are building up a Hello Alumni! archive on the HKUST MBA Alumni Community, with recap articles capturing the key takeaways of each webinar. Log in to read the recap of the first webinar here and stay tuned for future updates.

We look forward to seeing you at our next session and to future events!

David and Willy give their views on the change in high-net-worth clients’ investment behavior and risk appetite in the new normal, the impact of technology such as virtual banking and robo-advisors, and the latest trends in onshore/offshore investment opportunities.

Read the webinar recap of this episode on the MBA Alumni Community platform.
The session covers Peter and Leo’s perspectives on trends to watch in the industry, industries that private equity firms are going after in these uncertain economic times, the latest strategies in sourcing and selecting good deals, and career prospects and what it takes to join the private equity sector.
Vicky and Adele, both with extensive industry experience in Asia, discuss business trends and development in the region’s healthcare industry, particularly Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore. They also cover digital disruption and the evolving customer experience during the pandemic.
