ONLINE GET-TOGETHERS
Online Regional Rendezvous Proves Popular Meeting Point
HKUST MBA brought together over 300 alumni and students for the region’s inaugural virtual reunion, with Mr. Tian Ming, Chairman of Landsea Holding Group and a pioneer in green property development and technology, as the occasion’s special guest.
Mr. Tian founded Landsea in 2001 to bring green technologies to residential property development. Although only starting out on his entrepreneurial journey at the age of 40, he went on to rapidly establish his place at the top. Under Mr. Tian’s leadership in the past two decades, Landsea’s assets have grown from capital of RMB10 million at its incorporation to a total asset value exceeding RMB15 billion, with industry-leading property investments and development projects in major cities in China and the US.
In his fireside chat at the MBA get-together, the front-runner shared his entrepreneurial vision and philosophy in managing two listed companies, how he transformed the real estate industry, and commitments to green development and sustainability.
The session was moderated by Sylvia Wang (Full-time MBA, Class of 2022), with
recaps available in the Knowledge Archive, MBA Virtual Alumni Hub, for those unable to attend the live event.
The gathering also provided the opportunity for Associate Dean and MBA Program Director Prof Tai-Yuan Chen to give an update on the program’s latest news, and for small-group networking sessions for those attending to meet new friends in the MBA community.
Meanwhile, a lucky draw added to the enjoyment, with prizes including an opportunity to sit in on a HKUST’s new digital MBA courses, and an exclusive visit to Landsea’s headquarters in Shanghai, hosted by Mr. Tian.
