MBAP BI WEEKLY PROGRAM
Welcome, Intake 2019; Goodbye, Intake 2017

New Cohort of Intake 2019

On 12 January 2019, intake 2019 of the HKUST MBA for Professionals (Bi-Weekly Part-Time Program) officially commenced. Sixty-nine elite business leaders began the MBA journey through the Immersion Program. This is an intensive five-day experience that builds trust and friendship between students and equips them with the tools needed to work in diverse teams.

The Immersion Program provides students with an immersive and transformational experience through which they learn contemporary leadership and business concepts while building solid friendships that will span two years of intensive professional study and beyond. The program also helps students gain a deeper understanding of the cross-cultural environment and provides insights on how to overcome relevant challenges.

This year the students learned from real-world business cases and presented their innovative solutions to the guest speaker. The students were quickly able to establish their footing (literally and figuratively!) and they built stronger relationships through a series of discussions and team building exercises. They gained a better understanding of teamwork and communication between cultures as they became better acquainted with fellow classmates and transitioned into the MBA life.

Time to Lead – Intake 2017

‘Time to Lead’ took place at the Langham Hotel, Shenzhen from 19-20 January 2019. It was a fulfilling session of self-rediscovery, appreciation and connection. The class gathered first for in-depth personality trait tests, where they re-discovered themselves at different learning phases of becoming effective business leaders, crafting innovativeness to vex obstacles.

Among the events, the Gala Dinner and Alumni Sharing were the highlights. Accompanied by a buffet-meal and bottles of wine, the class of 2017 kick-started the Gala Dinner themed ‘Goodbye and Hello’, with a live-band concert to heat up the atmosphere. Later, students were portrayed as celebrities at ‘The MBA Oscars’ (and of course, with the famous red carpet), where they showed appreciation to fellow MBA classmates and life-long friends. Throughout the dinner, the students immersed themselves in joy and shed happy tears when they shared the video recalling lovely memories and the tough challenges they overcame together as a team.

On day two, the HKUST MBA for Professionals (Bi-Weekly Part-Time Program) invited our alumni, Mr Harry Zheng, Ms Ivy Pan, Mr Jeff He, Ms Jennifer Zhu, Ms Katherine Fu, Ms Luran He, Mr Leo Lin, Mr Roy Wang, Mr Thomas Xu and Mr Xu Xiang, to share their success stories and experiences as leaders in their professional fields. The feedback was spontaneous and fellow classmates were respectful of the rewarding insights delivered. The alumni also spoke of their ongoing connections with the MBA network of their alma mater.
