HKUST MBA

MBA Sundial Fifth Issue, July 2019
MESSAGE FROM THE MBA PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Professor Tai-Yuan Chen

Dear all,

Welcome to the fifth issue of the MBA Sundial.

Our endeavour to engage alumni through all channels never ends. One of our major goals is to encourage a learning and sharing culture among alumni and students to establish a more involved HKUST MBA community. A six-month mentorship program from Nov 2018 till Apr 2019 was established as a platform to facilitate alumni-student connections to benefit all parties involved. The mentees are offered personal and professional guidance, whilst the mentors are provided with an opportunity to strengthen their own coaching, mentoring and leadership skills. Even though the program has finished, the bonds will definitely last.

Another major highlight was the annual MBA Career Fair held last March at the Renaissance Harbour View Hotel, Wan Chai, to facilitate the MBA students’ career journey. We thank the vigorous support from our corporate partners, who this year brought us 74% more job openings and participation from over 50% more employers than last year. Our strong corporate ties and extensive alumni network have always been the backbone of the HKUST MBA Program’s continuous success.

We are pleased to announce that we continue to receive sponsorship from Goldman Sachs for our elective course for summer 2019, “MGMT5920 – Managing Diversity in Business Organizations”. This collaboration will continue to bring students a taste of real-life cases of diversity management by guest speakers from Goldman Sachs.

Enjoy your reading! We look forward to connecting with you, hearing your updates and receiving your feedback.
