MBA Sundial Fall 2018
MESSAGE FROM THE MBA PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Professor Tai-Yuan Chen

Dear all,

Welcome to the third issue of the MBA Sundial.

The world is constantly evolving with emerging technologies, including more and more discussions and applications of blockchain and Artificial Intelligence, now and in the future. Our program can help better equip our students and alumni for such changes by integrating business and technology into our curriculum. In addition to our current students, our alumni can benefit from this new curriculum through the Alumni Audit Program.

For this academic year, we are pleased to introduce several technology-based courses, including Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning Business Applications with Python. Financial Modeling, which used to be a workshop with a partial subsidy for students, will now be offered as a credit-bearing elective. We are confident that these courses will enhance our students’ professional skills to meet the needs of modern businesses.

To better understand how technology constantly changes business models, our alumnus Ashley Law, CFO and COO, Financial Services, SF Express, shared his thoughts on how technology helps expand his company’s business in this issue.

Finally, on November 11, 2018, we hosted the inaugural Alumni Homecoming at our Clearwater Bay campus. It was very well received by our students, alumni, and their families with more than 700 participants. A Corporation Reception was also held on November 23, 2018 to express our appreciation to the companies that have supported the school in many ways over the years.

Enjoy your reading! We look forward to connecting with you, hearing your updates, and receiving your feedback.
