CAREER DEVELOPMENT UPDATES
MBA Career Treks - Singapore and Shanghai

In October, the MBA Career and Professional Development (CPD) team, the Full-time MBA Association, and Student Clubs co-organized Career Treks to Singapore and Shanghai, giving MBA students further access to career and networking opportunities in Asia.
Singapore and Shanghai Treks

During their first stop in Singapore, 35 students visited Allianz, Aon, DBS, DHL Consulting, GIC, Golden Gate Ventures, Grab, GSK, Jet Aviation, Partners Group, Rakuten, Shopee, and Singapore Blockchain Association. The trek was concluded with a mixer event attended by 40+ alumni and a Career Panel Discussion featuring Kalpana Denzel (Managing Director, Russell Reynold Associates) and Anurag Garg (Associate Director, Michael Page).

The Singapore Alumni Chapter provided tremendous support. “MBA Alumni can help open doors and build relationships with potential supporters, especially in cities outside of HK through their established professional networks. This year, our Singapore Chapter worked closely with the CPD on several company visits and hosted a recruiter panel to share their views on the ASEAN employment landscape,” declared AJ Boelens, Chairman of the Singapore Alumni Chapter.

During the second stop in Shanghai, 29 MBA students visited companies from a wide range of industries, including Eli Lilly, Pernod Ricard, ZS Associates, Riot Games, VCredit, NIO, Invesco, DuPont, and Hyundai Robotics. Students also attended three fruitful sharing sessions hosted by our alumni in Shanghai, namely Mr. Enoch Tsui, Mr. Keith Ng, and Mr. Pierre Delfosse—our sincere gratitude for their support of the MBA program! During these visits and sharing sessions, valuable information on hot topics, including the development of e-commerce and new retail businesses in China, the latest trends in the e-sport and blockchain industry, and the growth potential of the wealth management industry in China, was shared by multiple guest speakers.

The Career Trek was wrapped on a high note with an alumni mixer at the WeWork Shanghai Flagship Store! More than 50 alumni and students joined us for the event and enjoyed two insightful speeches by Mr. Alan Ai (General Manager of WeWork, Greater China) on “The Future of Work” and Mr. David Chan (CEO of Bo Le Associates, Greater China) on “The Talent Market in China.” We would like to take this opportunity to thank our alumni in Singapore and Shanghai for their generous contributions.
